Last week, our community and the surrounding communities were blasted with rain! The rain fell so fast and so hard that a lot of the western suburbs were left flooded. Elmhurst was one of the worst that got hit! I am not sure what is wrong with the drainage systems in these towns but, so many people experienced a great deal of water in their houses…up to 8 or 9 feet for some! So many sad, heart-wrenching stories. Our Church was affected as well with inches of rain in the basement. We are praying for the businesses families of these communities!

This is what saved us from water gushing in our homes! This retention pond is in back of our houses and was filled over 10 feet in some places. These are the times I am grateful that we haven't bought a home in Elmhurst yet. We are learning more and more as the years go by where NOT to buy a house in Elmhurst. Praising Him we had no water!
