Costa Rica

Has it really been 10 years?
It sure has!  10 years ago, the six of us celebrated the best day of our lives.
9 years ago, Chad and Lauren celebrated the best day of their lives.
And this October, we will celebrate the greatest dad in the world and the 60 years of his life!
Because of these three amazing events, we decided to take a trip of a lifetime to the beautiful country of Costa Rica.  The trip was incredible, the land is beautiful, and having the ten of us together was so special!

We stayed in a gorgeous house…Casa Playa Bonita.  It was right on Flamingo Beach in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.  What a fabulous view!

The house had 5 seperate suites.  To make it fair, we all drew from a hat to see which room was ours.  Jud picked first and got a great room:)  Phil and Mare on the other hand, where not so lucky with their pick and got the room with two single beds:(  Sorry guys!

Day #1
Grocery shopping, hanging at the house, and two fabulous Costa Rican meals!

Day #2
Paddle Boarding, lots of boogie boarding, and time on the beach

I don't know how long it has been since I have hung out in a pool with just adults:)

Breath-taking sunsets

Day #3
We took a 4 hour journey to Monte Verde to go zip-lining at the "best" canopy tour in Costa Rica.  This experience was probably my favorite of the entire trip!

I mean….is this for real????
Almost a mile long zip line through the rainforest.  Unbelievable!

Tarzan swing.  Mom and Mel aren't scared at all:)

An hour hike over hanging bridges in the rainforest…so beautiful!

A birthday celebration at the end of a great day!

Day #4
We took a day trip to a beautiful beach and spent time at the coolest beach joint…Lola's.

Day #6
This day, we took a short ride over to Playa Concha near a small town named Braselito.  Mel and John swam out to the island that you can see in the pictures…way to go guys!

I love my family!!

In the afternoon, we went on a Catamaran tour.  They took us along site seeing along the coast, diving in the Pacific Ocean, and served us great food and drink along the way.  Great excursion!
(I will have to say…you can't beat the diving off of Chicken Cay.  We are spoiled with that!)

Gorgeous evening!

Day #6
This day, we spent a lot of time at the house enjoying our private beach, pool, and the best company in the world!
In the evening, we had a delicious dinner at Angelinas in Flamingo.

Day #7
We loved being with our tour guide Jonas so much that we booked another excursion with him!
This day, he took us on a river tour to see the wildlife of Costa Rica.

INCREDIBLE!

Last dinner in Flamingo Beach…Las Brisas

Day #8
Since our flight didn't leave out of Liberia until Sunday, we got to spend the last day enjoying a mountain resort called, Hotel Boriquen.  The grounds of this resort are like non I have ever seen.  It was absolutely beautiful.
Hot springs, mud baths, hikes through the rainforest, wild toucans, authentic Costa Rican food…fabulous last day!

Thank you Dad, mom, John, Mel, Mare, Phil, Chad, and Lauren for a trip of a lifetime!  Jud and I wouldn't have wanted to celebrate with anyone else.  God has blessed us and we are truly grateful for all of you.  We love you!

You spent 8 days in this paradise? This is definitely a trip of a lifetime! The beach, the scenery, even the house you stayed in looked very fabulous. Now I know where my next vacation will be. Thanks for sharing your fun, and I hope you have lots of it.
