A Little Surprise!

So, Canyon has been asking for a basketball hoop for a while. I told him that we would search some garage sales and see what we could find. We did look around but, didn't have much luck:( Jud was really sweet and got me a shelf that I have been wanting for Mothers Day from Target. We hadn't put it together yet so, I decided to take back my gifts back to the store and have a little fun with the kiddies (what a sacrifice hugh:). On Friday night we told the kids that we had a surprise for them. Jud and I threw them in the car and headed out. We landed at Toys r Us. They couldn't believe their eyes when they saw that they were at the toy store and we told them that we were going to get them both a surprise. We NEVER do this so it was an incredibly special and memorable time. Canyon went right to the basketball hoops and picked one out while saying, "I can't believe I'm getting a basketball hoop". Aliyana has been wanting a guitar like her Uncle Phil and of course went straight to the Hello Kitty one. What a fun night and the kids absolutely LOVE their new gifts!

I am all about teaching my kids to be thankful for what they have and try to instill in them a heart of thankfulness! Every evening we put them to bed, we read books and sing songs to them. This particular night, I made up songs about how a little boy and little girl got special gifts and loved them so much and were so thankful for them!

God, by your grace and mercy please grant me the wisdom to continue to teach my kids to be THANKFUL in each and every circumstance!
