So…I just had to go to GEORGIA:)
A couple weeks ago, the kids and I packed up the van and drove down to Georgia…yes, again:) Some of you know this already but about a month ago my sister Melissa went to the dermatologist and had a mole removed that was then biopsied and came back showing that it was melanoma. If you know me you know that I am an incredibly sensitive person and do not do well watching others go through tough times! When my sister called me she prefaced what she was about to say with, "Katie, don't freak out…" And what did I do, I FREAKED out:( The news was shocking and hard to navigate through at first. I would love to share her entire experience thus far with you but first hand information is always the best! Mel has a blog that I would love for you to visit…batusic.blogspot.com She just finished having surgery yesterday and this week we will await the tests results to see if the melanoma has spread at all into her lymph nodes. God has been so GREAT at carrying us all through this time. Although I am still incredibly anxious to hear the results of the lymph node biopsy, I can't help but cling to God and his promises! Thank you Mel for allowing me to walk through this journey with you and for opening your home to us this past time. You are an incredible Woman of God who I look up to and aspire to be like! You make me smile and I think that you are the BEST mommy that I know! I am praying for you constantly and know that God has you in the palm of His hand! I love you!!!
