Aliyana's First Day of Kindergarten!

Well, today was the big day!!! I had one EXCITED 5 year old this morning:) After coming into my room in the middle of the night claiming she couldn't sleep (I think she was literally so excited she couldn't sleep!), it was finally time to get ready for her first day. She picked out her outfit the day before and laid it oh so perfectly on her toy chest. She hopped right out of bed and got dressed as fast as she could! We were all out the door by 7:50…mom, dad, Canyon, Kingston, and the big Kindergartener! Honestly, it was pretty surreal. I have mixed emotions about the whole thing but can honestly say I am READY for this next chapter of our lives. Please read below to see the words that God so graciously gave to me the night before my little girl entered the "real world."

Mrs. Vandernald(sp?)…aka…Mrs. V (She is an absolute sweet heart and I know will be a perfect fit for Ali!)

"Entrust your loved ones to ME; release them into My protective care. They are much safer with Me than in your clinging hands. If you let a loved one become an idol in your heart, you endanger that one-as well as yourself. Remember the extreme measures I used with Abraham and Isaac. I took Isaac to the very point of death to free Abraham from son-worship. Both Abraham and Isaac suffered terribly because of the father's undisciplined emotions. I detest idolatry, even in the form of parental love."

"When you release loved ones to Me, you are free to cling to My hand. As you entrust others into My care, I am free to shower blessings on them. My Presence will go with them wherever they go, and I will give them rest. This same Presence stays with you, as you relax and place your trust in Me. Watch to see what I will do. "

(If you read my sister's blog, you will notice that these are the same exact words she posted on her blog…we had NO idea we read the same devotional and NO idea that we would both post about it…totally a GOD THING!)
