This holiday season, we are trying to focus on what we can give our King, Jesus. Heidi Joy found this neat idea online and shared it with me. She even made me the canvas…thanks so much Heid…you know I love you and am forever grateful!
How do we give to the King?
Jud and I introduced this to the kids when we started celebrating Advent at the beginning of the month. We talked to our kids about how we could give to Jesus this Christmas. When we love and care for others, we are giving to Jesus! Having servants hearts, doing things without complaining or arguing, and having a happy heart are all ways that we can give to the KING. Our challenge and prayer for them was for the whole month of December whenever Jud or I saw them giving to the King (sharing, serving, loving, etc), they could put a dollar in their pouch and at the end of the month we would count up all of our money and bless someone in need this Christmas! We have supported a little girl named Lala through World Vision for years. At the end of the month, the kids want to use what they have earned to pick out a gift through World Vision. They understand that it may not go directly to Lala but, their gift will bless others like her.
We are very proud of the kids thus far! I have even had to make two trips to the bank to get more dollar bills:)
Praising Jesus this holiday season!
