This picture means SO much to the Henry family! Inside that envelop is months and months worth of paperwork that we never thought we would get through! I can remember when I first read over the Dossier packet that our adoption agency sent to us (the dossier is the collection of documents required in an international adoption). I was overwhelmed and confused and had no idea where to start. But, day by day and step by step, we continued checking off the list. Over Christmas, Jud and I were fingerprinted by the USCIS and awaited the arrival of our orphan visa in the mail. A couple weeks ago, we GOT IT! In the past couple of weeks, we have spent endless hours finishing paperwork, getting them notarized (each notary had to match 6 specific requirements), approved by DuPage County, sealed by the state of Illinois, and authenticated by the Department of State and the Embassy of Ethiopia. All of that…DONE!!
We are so thankful that it is currently traveling across country to the capital to get its final Seal of Approval and then OFF to Ethiopia it goes!
A special thanks to my incredible husband for working so hard to get this done this past month…I love you bud and couldn't have done it without you!
So what's next?
Once our dossier is approved by the Department of State, we will officially be put on our adoption agencies wait list! This means that we are one step closer to meeting our little guy. We know and trust whole heartedly in God's perfect timing! We also know that this next part of the process is not going to be easy. Ever since we first started talking about adding to our family through adoption many years ago, God has taught me more and more about patience and trusting him. I am confident that this next year He will continue to do the same. We look forward to what God is going to teach us through waiting and are confident that however long, God has been and will continue to hold our little guy in his hands and bring him to us in His perfect time!
Thank you for joining us in this journey. Jud and I are excited, the kids are excited, and we know you all are excited as well. Please continue to keep us and our little guy in your prayers!
To GOD be the GLORY!
