My loving and amazing husband decided that with his "birthday money" he wanted to take the family away for a weekend. How sweet is that! So, we found a Groupon for a place an hour and a half away that I had never heard of. Starved Rock is a beautiful state park located just west of Chicago. About a half of mile from this park is a beautiful resort called, Grizzly Jacks Grand Bear Resort.
What a blessed weekend!

So much fun! Aliyana shocked us all by doing the high ropes course. She LOVED it! The boys loved the bounce houses and games and even some of the rides. The downer of the night was when both Jud and I got sick on the Tilt-a-whirl:(
The water park was a BLAST!
Mom loved every bit of her time with us! It was a blessing to have her there and we are so thankful that she came along. Her favorite at the water park…the lazy river:)
God blessed us with such a great weekend! The Groupon was a total "God thing!" The resort was beautiful and the fall colors where vibrant!
Isn't this neat…instead of a shuttle picking you up and taking you to your destination, the TRAIN does! Every kid loves a train ride!
One of the things the kids were most excited about for the weekend was mini golf! Canyon has wanted to play mini golf for a long time and guess what it was called...CANYON CREEK!!! Look at him, he was so tickled that it was named after him:)

Both days we went to Starved Rock. We didn't do any hiking but we did enjoy the outdoors, beautiful river, and fun in the leaves!
We had such a great weekend together…thanks so much for taking us Juddy!
